FOREST: NATURE AT YOUR SERVICE
This year's theme 'Forests: Nature at Your Service' underscores the intrinsic link between the quality of life and the health of forests and forest ecosystems. The WED theme also supports this year's UN International Year of Forests. India is a country of 1.2 billion people who continue to put pressure on forests, especially in densely populated areas where people are cultivating on marginal lands and where overgrazing is contributing to desertification.
Unless we are willing to encourage our children to reconnect with and appreciate the natural world, we can’t expect them to help protect and care for it.

Stand Tall and Proud
Sink your roots deeply into the Earth
Reflect the light of a greater source
Think long term
Go out on a limb
Remember your place among all living beings
Embrace with joy the changing seasons
For each yields its own abundance
The Energy and Birth of Spring
The Growth and Contentment of Summer
The Wisdom to let go of leaves in the Fall
The Rest and Quiet Renewal of Winter
Feel the wind and the sun
And delight in their presence
Look up at the moon that shines down upon you
And the mystery of the stars at night.
Seek nourishment from the good things in life
Earth, fresh air, light
Be content with your natural beauty
Drink plenty of water
Let your limbs sway and dance in the breezes
Remember your roots
Enjoy the view!

Let’s walk together, let’s plant our way into the future. Let us peak into the dreams of the beautiful planet of your imagination
In 2011 Diproinduca celebrated its first annual World Environment Day. Last year’s theme was Forests and we focused our activities and contribution to the plantation of trees and the education of our people and our children on what small steps we can take to reduce our environmental footprint. We are now preparing ourselves to once again join the United Nations and celebrate our 2nd Annual World Environment Day. This year’s theme is Green Economy: Does it include you? The UN Environment Programme defines the Green Economy as one that results in improved human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. In its simplest expression, a green economy can be thought of as one which is low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive. One of Diproinduca’s contributions to this theme will be the launch of our Smart Energy Program which will consist of putting in place policies which allow our company to reduce and efficiently use energy. We invite all our partners to join us in this journey to the continuous reduction of our environmental footprint.
