Let’s explore how many animals, plants, flowers, are around us. The more we have in one place, the better!

If you find a lot of different species in one space, you found BIODIVERSITY!

On Earth, there are many different ecosystems

How is it possible to have all these plants, flowers, animals and creatures living together in one place?

They are like a team, all helping to keep The Jungle, nice and healthy, big teams of species make this home a fantastic one.

There are different types of homes in our planet, can you guess the name of the home for this group of species?

Take a look at this team, living in a different type of home. This place has tall trees, wildflowers, rivers. Sometimes we visit this natural home trough trails. Can you guess the name of this home?

Do you think these species are connected?

YES, they are! And the more connections you can find, the better it is for their home, for humans and for the planet.

Let’s take a look at different HOMES and their living species

The Ocean is the biggest of all, with many many species, from the tiniest to the largest on Earth.

Living underwater must be great.

The Arctic is a pretty chilly and icy place, it is home to all these super cool friends.

They sure love a snow day.

The hot Desert is HOME of animals and plants that love the sun, they can live around much sand and very little water.

The Jungle! You know precisely the species that live here. This HOME is green and lush, sometimes wet.

Thanks to Biodiversity in the Jungle, we receive many gifts…

Every HOME in nature have their unique teams of animals and plants, but they also have their own special weather. Some of them are dry, others are really wet, this changes the type of plants that grow in these places.

In the next activity we invite you to compare different HOMES. These HOMES are also called ECOSYSTEMS.

Gifts from Nature

We receive many types of food from nature, like seeds, fruits vegetables

Clean water

Nature gives us clean water, from rivers, lakes and springs

Look around, many materials come from nature.
Wood, Fibers, Stones and Metals

Various of the medicines we use, comes from nature.
Like herbs, plants, fruits.

Clean Air

Is very important for our health to breath clean air. Good Ecosystems with lots of plants and trees, help clean the air we breath.

Beautiful Places to Enjoy

It is wonderful for our wellbeing and happiness to be able to enjoy the outdoors. The beauty of nature is good for our mood.

Remember, more living things in one place makes a better planet for all. Bigger teams build better ecosystems giving the planet more natural gifts.

Contest through the years

For children between 4 and 7 years old
Sprouts do wonderful things! They are capable of focusing on the things they like. Let them draw about what they are most interested in.

The best way to help the artist in this category is by talking about what attracts their attention most about Biodiversity. Help them to digest and understand the information by sharing examples. One of the best ways to promote the preservation of nature is through love and appreciation for it.

Winners 2019

We have witnessed the growth of participating children, both in age and maturity, by examining how these themes are created and reflected in the unbound inspiration found in their works of art. Their creativeness in focusing on the importance of cleaning our world has not only taught them how to care and love the environment but has also allowed all of us to learn so much from their young imaginative minds.
