I am Roderic Baker Mast. But my friends call me Rod or Rodrigo, and my family calls me Roddy.

I live in Herndon, VA, USA, about 25 miles from Washington, DC.

My favorite part of where I live is the forest in my backyard with many birds, native reptiles like turtles, snakes, lizards, and even deer, fox, and coyotes.

I Like Animals (especially sea turtles), the ocean, traveling, scuba diving, writing, speaking Spanish, and doing conservation.

I Dislike Apps and tech that don't do what I need them to do and remembering passwords.

My favorite Ice cream flavor is All of them.

If I have to choose between a mountain or a beach? I would say both, but principally beaches and oceans.

My favorite place in nature is Galapagos, Botswana (Okavango Delta), Trinidad during turtle nesting season (May).

The leadership philosophy that inspires me the most is hiring people who are better/smarter than me, clearly defining our shared purpose (vision+mission+values), and working hard as a team to achieve it.

On social media, you can find me @oceanic.society  oceanicsociety.orgbluehabits.orgseaturtlestatus.orgiucn-mtsg.org.

If I have the opportunity to be an ambassador for two of the sustainable goals, I will choose

Goal #14 "Life below water" Healthy oceans are essential for our planet and the people.
